In March 2020, before the Corona virus pandemic forced the UK and Jersey into lockdown J.C.F. worked with the Government and others to bring three new vehicle mounted disinfector units to Jersey.
These high capacity systems are designed for environmental cleaning and facilitate rapid and thorough disinfection of environmental surfaces with water and hospital level disinfectants.
The units have a capacity of 1200ltrs and, in operation, up to 600 sqm per hour can be treated by a single operator. Up to four operatives may be deployed from a single van mounted system giving a total coverage of 7,200 square metres in a working time of 2-3 hours before the need to replenish with mains water. It should be noted that all environmental considerations were taken into account and professional advice was taken from Environment and Jersey Water.
J.C.F. Managing Director, Iain Mackenzie said ‘this was very much about Jersey business and the Government coming together to ensure that this type of equipment was available in the Island, and I would like to thank everyone involved. Standard Chartered Bank Jersey donated the cost of two of the units, Motor Mall supplied one vehicle on loan, SignTech completed the liveries, and Lee McGurty at Safe and Sound Solutions completed the necessary hazard and ecological risk assessments.
